Expression of Interest: 2D Animation Producer
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced longform Animation Producers
As the Producer, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process from pre production to delivery. You will work closely with the creative team, directors, and other stakeholders to ensure that the project meets artistic vision, deadlines, and budgetary constraints. Your role will involve coordinating various aspects of production, managing resources effectively, and facilitating collaboration among team members to bring the series to life.
As the Producer, you play a crucial role in bringing our creative vision to life. Your leadership and organisation will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the project and delivering a high-quality animated series to our audience.
Areas of Accountability
Production Planning and Management
Oversee all areas of the 2D production pipeline to maintain scheduled and budgeted expectations.
Create and maintain production schedules, ensuring that all milestones and deadlines are met.
Coordinate with department heads to allocate resources and streamline workflows.
Align the budget and schedule prior to production commencement with the desired/planned pipeline.
Oversee the tracking, reporting and management of all key production crew.
Supervise all cost reports, and flag issues/overages.
Provide accurate updates to key clients and internal stakeholders of the production status and important milestones.
Oversee the final delivery of production assets to the network and other stakeholders.
Anticipate potential challenges and risks that may arise during production, and develop contingency plans to address them
Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact the project timeline or quality
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to keep them informed of any developments or changes to the project.
People Leadership
Be a positive role model in the studio, demonstrating actions, accountability for and behaviours aligned with the Princess Bento culture.
Provide clear and regular communication to staff to ensure they are across key production and studio wide information.
Provide leadership and guidance to the production team, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring that each team member understands their role in the project.
Conduct regular meetings and check-ins to assess progress, address concerns, and provide feedback.
Manage initiatives to develop and maintain crew morale.
Ensure that the team culture is one of timely feedback (with both positive praise and constructive criticism), undertaking performance reviews and management discussions, as needed.
Foster an environment of collaboration and an environment where mistakes are an opportunity for growth.
Ensure under-performing team members in the studio are promptly and effectively addressed with clear actionable feedback and timely action if insufficient improvement.
Provide effective oversight of the production staffing strategy, identifying skill, capability and resourcing gaps, clearing communicating and escalating these as appropriate.
Ensure the team is utilised and the projects are resourced to meet deliverables.
Work with the P&C and Talent Team to define the training and development requirements of the team in line with the needs of the show and ensure their regular implementation.
Work closely with the Talent Team to identify and attract new talent to the studio and participate in all talent acquisition, interviewing and hiring for the production.
Assist in defining and implementing training programs for the teams in the key skills and tools they need for their performance and career development, in conjunction with the HoP and Talent Team.
Work closely with the creative team to ensure that the project maintains artistic integrity and meets quality standards while staying within expectations.
Review storyboards, designs, and animation sequences when necessary.
Facilitate communication between the creative team and other departments to ensure alignment and coherence in the final product.
Operational Management
Provide oversight and analysis of production performance, ensuring effective planning, forecasting, prompt and complete troubleshooting.
Review and monitoring of time sheet compliance.
Assist HoP and Department Directors in managing and improving production processes and systems
Monitor the efficiencies of production staff members and department teams to provide advice to the HoP on potential improvements.
Monitor forecasts and pipeline to identify potential periods of excessive or under utilised workload and/or gaps and work to mitigate.
If required (Line Producer dependent) Supervise animation budget, including tracking any overage and change order requirements, and regular reporting of the project status.
Troubleshoot production issues and find solutions within the scope of the budget and schedule
Client Leadership
Ensure all work from each department is properly reviewed prior to issue to clients at critical milestones.
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key strategic clients and partners to ensure we are considered and ideally preferred for their key projects and recommended to others.
Maintain an active network with potential clients or collaborators to further strengthen the awareness, brand and reputation of the studio.
Skills/Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in 2D Animation, with at least 3 years of producer experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Suite and Shotgrid/Flow (desirable)
Operational management, including an understanding of the project management of large productions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring that the necessary information is flowing across the departments, within the production and to clients.
Client relationship development and management at the most senior levels.
Warm communication style, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Effective leadership and management of large teams.
Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships internally and persuade and/or direct personnel to shift behaviours where necessary and operate in accordance with Princess Bento values.
Excellent time management and organisational skills, working effectively to deadlines.
