Expression of Interest: 2D Line Producer
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Animation Line Producers
The Line Producer is central to the successful day-to-day operation and governance of the Production.
Working closely with the Producer in the execution of strategic objectives, the Line Producer ensures the smooth operation and timely delivery the project while overseeing the general operations of the production, people and resourcing.
You will also be required to liaise with the Production Accountant in relation to any financial matters, to assist in achieving efficiency and affordability of the production.
Areas of Accountability
Production Management
Oversee detailed production micro schedules and help to ensure all departments meet deadlines.
Anticipate and proactively address potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks.
Communicate schedule updates and adjustments to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the Producer to establish production timelines, milestones, and processes.
Oversee the day-to-day production activities to ensure adherence to schedules and budget.
Coordinate with various departments including animation, storyboard, design, and post-production teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with department heads to allocate resources effectively and maintain production quality standards.
Identify potential risks and production challenges, and develop contingency plans to mitigate their impact.
Monitor production progress and address any issues or delays promptly to keep the project on track.
Maintain up-to-date documentation and records to facilitate project tracking and risk assessment.
Implement quality control measures throughout the production process to ensure alignment with creative vision and technical standards.
Work closely with the creative team to address any creative or technical challenges that may arise during production.
People Management
Be a positive role model in the studio, demonstrating actions, accountability for and behaviours aligned with the Princess Bento culture.
Supervise the key creative leadership team of the show (i.e. supervising director, art director, editor) and the key production crew.
Ensure communication channels are open within the show and that all departments are functioning to their full potential. Manage initiatives to develop and maintain crew morale.
Ensure that managers/supervisors on your production communicate clear milestones with their teams. Follow up throughout the projects and ensure managers are providing feedback against progress.
Escalate and work with the Producer and P&C Manager on employee relations issues.
Identify staffing needs and work with the Talent Team to source additional crew.
Direct the team to arrange the necessary recruitment and onboarding requirements, managing leave requests, overtime approvals and timesheet sign-offs.
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment by providing support and guidance to team members.
Prioritise the health and wellbeing of the team and facilitate an approachable working relationship for crew to discuss problems or issues.
Budget Management
Work closely with the Head of Production and Finance Team to manage the production budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation when needed.
Monitor expenditures, identify potential cost overruns, and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks.
Evaluate and negotiate vendor contracts and production agreements to optimise cost-effectiveness.
Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in 2D Animation with at least 2 years of Line Producer or PM level experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Suite and Shotgrid/Flow.
Operational management, including an understanding of the 2D Animation production process.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring that the necessary information is flowing across the departments, within the Production and to clients.
Warm communication style and ability to maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
Effective leadership and management of large teams.
Ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships internally and direct personnel constructively.
Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills, working effectively to deadlines.
