Expression of Interest: 2D Production Manager
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Production Managers
As Production Manager you are a key member of the management team working under the guidance of the Producer and Line Producer.
Your main focus will be supporting and developing the capabilities of the production.
Responsibilities will include managing the day-to-day logistics of the production, working with other production staff to ensure high performance of all departments, systems and processes and helping to mitigate and address significant issues as needed.
With several production crew reporting to you, you'll develop and maintain detailed production schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines set by higher management.
As the primary point of contact between departments and higher management, effective communication and collaboration skills are crucial. Additionally, you'll oversee documentation and reporting, ensuring accurate records of production activities are maintained.
Areas of Accountability
Production Planning and Performance
Develop and maintain comprehensive production micro schedules for all stages of the project, including pre-production, production, and post-production.
Anticipate potential resource needs and address any shortages or bottlenecks proactively.
Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process, ensuring that all deliverables meet the creative vision and technical requirements of the project.
Communicate project updates, deadlines, and expectations to all relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
Identify potential issues or challenges that may arise during production and develop proactive solutions to address them.
Maintain accurate records of all production-related activities, including schedules, and personnel assignments.
Generate regular reports on project progress, and other key metrics for management review.
Cross Department Facilitation
Serve as the primary point of contact between different departments, facilitating communication and collaboration across teams.
Coordinate with department heads to establish realistic deadlines and ensure that all milestones are met on time
Coordinate with department heads to allocate resources effectively.
Work closely with the creative team to resolve any creative or technical problems that may impact the project.
Team Management
Be a positive role model in the studio, demonstrating actions, accountability and behaviours aligned with the Princess Bento culture.
Supervise and support the coordinators and assistants making sure they feel confident in their responsibilities and department pipelines.
Keep track of departmental micro-schedules keeping deadlines and milestones front of mind for all crew.
Conduct necessary reviews and provide feedback to ensure that all work meets established standards.
Work closely with the Line Producer to identify and raise issues when additional skills or crew are required throughout the production.
Clear communication of milestones to direct reports, following up throughout the project and providing effective feedback against progress.
Foster a positive, collaborative and productive work environment.
Prioritise the health and wellbeing of the team and facilitate an approachable working relationship for crew to discuss problems or issues.
Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in 2D Animation with at least 2 years of production manager experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Suite and Shotgrid/Flow.
Demonstrated sound working knowledge of the 2D animation production pipeline, animation process and the complexities of each department.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring that the necessary information is flowing across the departments, within the Production and to clients (where necessary).
Warm communication style and ability to maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
Effective management of large teams and ability to direct personnel constructively.
Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisational skills, working effectively to deadlines.
Ability to assess department needs and identify relevant solutions.
