As a Harmony Animator on our rigged show, you will play a crucial role in bringing characters and scenes to life through animation. Working within the Harmony software environment, you will animate characters according to established rigs, ensuring adherence to the show's style and guidelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Areas of Accountability
Concept and Story Development
Understanding the script, storyboards, and concepts to bring the characters and scenes to life.
Work closely with department leads, supervisors and directors to ensure the animation aligns with the narrative and artistic vision.
Character Animation
Utilise software to animate characters and scenes based on provided rigs, designs and layouts.
Ensure animations are fluid, expressive, and consistent with the show's aesthetic and character personalities.
Building up accurate, detailed, frame-by-frame visuals.
Ensure that the animation is technically sound, free from errors, and optimised for rendering and playback on various platforms.
Collaborate with the Animation Supervisor and team to understand and execute animation requirements.
Collaborate with technical directors and other departments to integrate animations into the final production.
Conduct self-reviews of animation work to ensure quality and consistency.
Address feedback from the Animation Supervisor and incorporate revisions as needed.
Communicate effectively with production teams to meet project deadlines and milestones.
Rig Utilisation
Work with pre-established rigs to ensure character movements are accurate and maintain rigging integrity.
Troubleshoot rigging issues as they arise and collaborate with rigging and technical teams for solutions.
Skills/Experience
Relevant qualification in Animation or a related field.
Proficient use of design software, Adobe Photoshop, Toon Boom Harmony and Shotgrid when required.
Strong collaboration and communication skills. Able to clearly communicate thinking visually and verbally.
Strong animation skills and an excellent portfolio demonstrating an eye for detail, style and consistency.
Ability to constructively receive and apply feedback effectively.
Reliable, punctual, honest and well-presented.
Strong time management and organisational skills, working effectively to deadlines.
